If you've been paying attention to our social media lately, or paid us a visit you may have noticed a new arrival in the P&H Motorcycles showroom.
We're over the moon to announce that Norton Motorcycles are now part of the P&H family!
It's been a long time since we've welcomed a new brand into the fold, but this one just felt right for us. It's also our first British motorcycle brand in our 43 years of ownership!
About Norton Motorcycles
Norton's story began all the way back in 1898, when James Lansdowne Norton (Aka Pa) founded the company as a manufacturer of fittings and parts for the two-wheeled trade. Norton's first motorcycle was built in 1902, and was powered by a 142cc single-cylinder engine.
Just 5 years later, Norton won the inaugural Isle of Man TT with Rem Fowler onboard a 5hp Peugeot-engine bike. What followed then is nearly a century at the forefront of racing, with numerous victories across the year. From winning 78 out of the 92 Grand Prix races between 1930 - 1937, to Steve Hislop defeating Carl Fogarty in the 1992 Isle of Man Senior TT and more iconic moments than we can count.
Norton's racing heritage simply cannot be questioned.
In 2020 a new era for Norton began, when it was acquired by TVS Motor Company. The reinvigorated Norton brand will draw inspiration from the past to build their legacy for the future, with the aim to return Norton to it's position where it belongs - as one of the most iconic and influential motorcycle brands the world has ever seen.
So What Now?
We're at the beginning of our journey with Norton, and we're beyond proud to be announced as the first official partner for the brand. Currently the Commando 961 is available to view and purchase in-store, and we'll have a demo bike available very soon.
Later in the year the rest of the line-up will arrive, and we'll have lots of exciting things happening then. This really is just the beginning, and we're grateful to be along for the ride.
Come down and check out the Commando 961 if you have a chance, they truly are a sight to behold. If you'd prefer to contact us by phone or email to discuss, then you can reach us via the usual channels!
